Bolumo’s lampshade selection is designed primarily for vintage and second-hand table and wall lamps, but the shades can be used with many different types of lighting fixtures. Older lamps often have varying fitting methods, so it’s recommended to familiarise yourself with shade compatibility before purchasing.

Many older table and wall lamps do not have a threaded socket at all. In these cases, a clip-on lampshade is often the only workable option. Clip-on shades are attached directly to the light bulb and do not require a separate shade holder. For this reason, clip-on lampshades are compatible with almost all lamp bases, as long as the bulb type is suitable for the shade. This distinguishes them from ring-fitted lampshades, which require a specific lamp structure.

The collection includes both clip-on and ring-fitted lampshades, and some shades are also suitable for wall lamps when the fitting method and proportions are appropriate.

Most of Bolumo’s lampshades are second-hand items. They are one-of-a-kind pieces and may show signs of age, such as wear in the material or structure. Any notable details are always clearly stated in the individual product information.

Good to know about lampshade fittings

Lampshades come with different fitting types, and not all shades can be attached to all lamps in the same way.

Clip-on lampshades are compatible with almost all lamp bases, whereas ring-fitted lampshades require a lamp with a dedicated shade thread.

Clip-on fitting
